An Appreciation of Natural Stone

Marble, Stone & Granite are materials that have been formed over millions of years and as such are prone to fossils and other natural inclusions that are formed within these materials. These features are of no detriment to the stone and are what makes these materials unique, thus ensuring that each fireplace has its own individuality, this is what separates stone, marble & granite from mass produced man made products.

While every care is taken to ensure consistency of colour and vein patterning of our products, natural variations can and will occur- this is one of the natural characteristics of the material.

Each fireplace undergoes a thorough quality check before dispatch. During these checks some inclusions may undergo a process known as stopping & filling which involves filling air pockets and venting with specially prepared fillers which are chemically formulated to match the appearance of the materials as closely as possible.
